Three Students Die In Guntur Road Mishap
Four people were killed in a road accident near Dokiparru in Medikonduru mandal of Gunturdistrict on Sunday. A speeding lorry dashedam autorickshaw proceeding towards Guntur killing two people on the spot. Two others, including autorickshaw driver died while undergoing treatment.According to the Medikonduru police, M. Kalyan.20, P Venkatasairam, 21, and Sk. Rahman, 20, belonging to Prakasam district was studying B. Tech first year in Samuel George Institute of Engineering and Technology.
The three students reached Phirangipuram on Saturday night, stayed in the house of Kalyan’s relative and decided to attend a competitive exam on Sunday in Vignan College at Palakalur.
The three started to Palakalur in an autorickshaw from Phirangipuram but the autorickshaw overturned on the Guntur Phirangipuram road in a bid to avoid dashing a dog.
Suddenly, a speeding lorry in the opposite direction dashed the overturned autorickshaw at JOCIL Company near Dokiparru and Kalyan and Venkatasairam died on the spot as they were crushed beneath thelorry.
The locals rushed to the spot, informed the police and rescued Rahman and autorickshaw driver Yesobu, 30, belonging to Vemulurupadu in Phirangipuram. But as their condition was deteriorating due to severe body and head injuries, the police shifted them to GGH at Guntur, but they died in the GGH while undergoing treatment.
