YSRC MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy to Move Court
There are only four days left to meet the deadline given by the AP Information Commission to the In-charge secretary of the State Assembly to provide information sought by YSRC MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy under the Right to Information Act. The fight between the two began almost an year ago.The MLA informed this correspondent that he is going to file two separate writ petitions against the violation of the in charge secretary, including one in the High Court and the second in the Supreme Court.
He explained that the writs include, one on violating the Information Commission’s orders and the second is Quo Warranto. Mr. Reddy further said that he is suspecting that in-charge secretary K. Satyanarayana Rao has been holding the office without possessing the required technical and educational qualifications. To get clarity on it, Mr Reddy is going to file the Quo Warranto writ in the Supreme Court under the Article 32 of the Constitution of India.
Meanwhile, Mr Reddy criticised that if it is the case of the public representative in this state, then what about the common man’s fate when they approach any government office for any query through the Right To Information Act? He further suspected that when the government is reluctant to provide the information under the Act, how would it maintain transparency in day-to-day affairs?
